I am joining ALBA primarily to access the travel grant for the FENS Forum, which presents a significant opportunity for my professional growth in neuroscience. This grant will enable me to attend a pivotal event in my field, fostering my learning and allowing me to contribute more effectively to current research in computational neuroscience. My participation in the FENS Forum, supported by ALBA, aligns with my goals to stay at the forefront of neuroscience research and to actively engage with the global scientific community.

I am eager to join the ALBA Network to actively contribute to its mission of promoting equity and diversity in the brain sciences. My background in clinical medicine and biomedical informatics has highlighted the critical need for inclusive practices and diverse perspectives in neuroscience research and application. I am particularly drawn to ALBA's commitment to empowering scientists as advocates for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), promoting best practices to counteract bias, and providing professional development opportunities for underrepresented groups. By becoming a member, I aim to collaborate with like-minded professionals to develop and implement strategies that foster inclusivity within the neuroscience community. I am also interested in participating in ALBA's initiatives, such as networking events and mentoring programs, to support the career development of underrepresented neuroscientists.
Joining ALBA aligns with my personal and professional goals of advocating for equitable opportunities and creating a more inclusive environment in the field of brain sciences.

Initiatives such as Alba are necessary in order to raise awareness about the problems women and other minorities still face when pursuing a research career. It is through our joined efforts and daily actions that we will make a difference.

I am both personally and professionally passionate about fostering more inclusive academic and scientific environments. I feel as
a fellow URM in the field, who recently became faculty at a medical institution, I can now use some of my political capital to advocate for change. This change includes advocating for policies that ensure inclusivity, visibility, and representation, and equitability both within my institution and across the broader neuroscience network.

The role of alba is very important in equality and diversity in the Neuroscience field.

The aim of the Alba Network to promote equity and diversity in the brain sciences totally resonates with my values and activities. I am myself involved in promoting the visibility of women in neuroscience through the Women in Neuroscience Repository initiative. I believe the work and initiatives of the Alba Network are valuable in promoting diversity and inclusion in brain sciences.

I support ALBA's mission and DEI efforts.

As a future group leader, I am committed to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in biomedical research. As a Caucasian woman, I recognize that my life experiences surrounding EDI and barriers to progress in the workplace are vastly different from my peers who come from historically underrepresented and marginalized communities. I want to join ALBA so I can be a part of a global network dedicated to EDI in research, so that I can receive regular updates on ALBA activities and events that focus on furthering EDI skills and advocacy.

Diversity and equality in science will not happen on its own, and so initiatives like ALBA are crucial. I am joining to express my support and to get involved in making the scientific community a better place!
