As a researcher from a small town in Turkey, I’ve worked hard to overcome challenges, earning a PhD in Rome as an MSCA fellow during COVID and now training in the US—all while managing ADHD and depression. I believe ALBA represents scientists like me, which is why I’d like to join.

I joined ALBA because :
My personal connections to cognitive aging disorders have led me to take interest in and become involved in community programs aimed at supporting individuals living with with dementia. Through disseminating research, facilitating support groups, and leading classes to educate about brain health and healthy aging, I am able to connect with individuals affected by such disorders while serving hard-to-reach populations and practicing science communication. I believe that ALBA will help me further limit bias and connect with others who come from underserved groups to better advocate for science communication, and hopefully adoption, with people of all groups.
