As an Indian-American woman in STEM, I'm passionate about amplifying diverse voices. I hope to work towards increasing access to neuroscience education and career pursuits as well as combatting barriers and stigma related to age, gender, ethnicity, disability, and socioeconomic background.

I'd like to connect with other queer neuroscientists and continue to foster a community and culture that fights for diversity, inclusion, and equity in our work.

I am very passionate about increasing diverse perspectives into neuroscience and trying to get involved with all groups taking this initiative seriously.

I am committed to promote equality and diversity in the brain sciences. I want to receive training for developing strategies to provide access for underrepresented groups in Neuroscience.

Over the past decade, I dedicated my professional career to developing tools that could demolish barriers between psychiatry, cognitive science, computer science, mathematics, and neuroscience, between the U.S.A. and Palestine, while integrating my scientific and medical training. My research spans treatment, symptoms, cognition, and neural layers to reimagine psychiatry and neurology while accounting for the variability across the different components, with no individual left behind. Taken from a community perspective, this research philosophy is the technical definition of diversity, equity, and inclusion, i.e., the core mission of ALBA. I avidly look forward to contributing to the ALBA mission and network.

After developing and working with BrainWaves (link attached), a program aimed at bringing hands on EEG research into the classroom, my passion for STEM outreach and equal opportunity in the foundational years in high school regardless of economic background has grown immensely. If we can cultivate interests in neuroscience at a young age, we may then finally be able to see a demographic change reflected in the professional world of research.
