During my 8-year research career in Europe, I confronted with a lot of biases as a minority. But when I came back to my country, South Korea, I felt more bias here and it needs more input from outside for diversity.

I was part of the FENS ALBA YIBRO Diversity grant and attended the ALBA events at FENS Virtual Forum 2020. I was happy to see many others at my career level talking about similar issues in science and otherwise. I grew up in a cosmopolitan environment. I have been in three different cities for my education in India. After completing my PhD in India, I moved to Dallas for postdoctoral research. I always believed that inclusion and diversity is essential; it helps us gather diverse idea, gives varied point of view and makes us more accommodative to others. I support the mission of ALBA in creating equality and diversity and would be happy to support and network with the fellow members.
