The Network

ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. We currently have 1890 individual members from 91 countries.

I joined ALBA because :
I recently became an ALBA member and made a presentation on LGBT inclusion in brain science during the ALBA webinar on diversity issues in Latin America. The enlightening set of presentations and encouraging discussions during this webinar inspired me to boost my participation in the ALBA network. I believe diversity among members of leading teams is important for implementing comprehensive and inclusive policies. Thus, I considered that my personal history as a brain scientist born in Latin America and a member of the LGBTQ community could contribute to this goal.
