The Network

ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. We currently have 1890 individual members from 91 countries.

I joined ALBA because :
I feel that science is not diverse enough and for instance, being a woman, I have felt under represented many times in my career. I believe we can do better for the next generations of scientists and I want to be part of the process of creating a positive culture of inclusivity in Academia. For this, I feel that my interests strongly align with those of Alba.

I joined ALBA because :
Alba stands for all of my values as a scientist with multiple marginalized identities (disabled, 2LGBTQIA+, economically disadvantaged, non-traditional student) and provides a space to commune & advocate for active support, inclusion, and representation within brain sciences. As a scientist & trainee fully open about my lived experiences to advocate for representation, it would be an honor to contribute to Alba’s crucial mission as a member.
