The Network

ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. We currently have 1890 individual members from 91 countries.

I joined ALBA because :
Women neuroscientists are still underrepresented in various aspects of academic life. Women-led papers are undercited and gender bias issue is still far from being solved! We all should talk about women's rights advocacy. Because I strongly believe the world needs science, Science needs women!

I joined ALBA because :
I am joining Alba because I truly believe science, and society in general, has to move forwards in terms of gender equality, and is not quite where it should have been if it would have taken serious actions sooner. Academia shares a lot of the societal problems when it comes to gender and diversity promotion and inclusion. It also has some very specific issues that are deeply related to the history of science, and the way the academic system works, which can be very different from the industrial job-market. I have been involved as a Gender Equality Officer in a previous Max Planck Institute for a few years, and I am always eager to join bigger networks that are fighting similar issues, to combine efforts and find hope and inspiration.
