As the Gender Equality committee member of the Neuroscience Center Zurich (ZNZ, https://www.neuroscience.uzh.ch/en/about/people/gender_equality_committee.html) I already am active in this field and believe in the importance of tackling this topic in various levels, to improve gender equality in neuroscience as well as awareness within the field and outside of the field.

I've started a public lecture series in the city where my campus is located. It's been a big success. Since then I've given a Tedx talk and a couple of other talks for the public. I also teach a class about communicating science to a general audience. I care deeply about how the public views us scientists and our findings.
In my own research, I am particularly interested in how prior knowledge and internal state often completely overrule rational decision-making. This aspect of behavior is extremely useful for survival, but it is also one of the reasons why we are biased and jump to conclusions that are not based on facts but expectations, unconscious bias etc.

I have attended Alba's meeting at IBRO2019 and I have identified myself with Alba's mission in promoting equity in neuroscience.

I am a neuroscientist by training who has dedicated her career to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the sciences. I am the Executive Director of Ciencia Puerto Rico, a nonprofit that seeks to celebrate, give visibility to, and empower the Puerto Rican scientific community and allies. I also hold a position as Director of the Yale Ciencia Initiative in the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion of the Yale School of Medicine, where I lead national programs to promote the career success of scientists from historically-excluded or marginalized backgrounds. Finally, I am the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion of the Wu Tsai Institute, which is establishing an inclusive community at Yale for all who are interested in advancing understanding of the mind and cognition.

I would like to be actively involved and informed about the events that ALBA network is organizing.

I would like to extend my network and increase the visibility of my research (focus on rare neurodegenerative diseases).

I have huge interest in the field of neuroscience and ALBA is one such platform from where I could interact with leading researchers and scientists in the field.

I was impressed when I read the mission statement of the ALBA network. I come from a community where research in neuroscience still hasn't reached its potential. I believe, this platform will allow me the opportunity to access the wondrous scientific community of neuroscience led by inspiring neuroscientist and world class research.

The time for change is now.

I would love to be in touch with other people that share my commitment for inclusion of the LGBT+ community in sciences

It is an opportunity to network with neuroscientists across the world as I define my career path in the neuroscience of ageing.
