The Network

ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. We currently have 1890 individual members from 91 countries.

I joined ALBA because :
Equity, diversity, and inclusion are notions that we all consider important, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we are actively working to reduce our unconscious bias. Through my involvement in the ALBA network I aspire to be part of the initiative that brings this bias to light, to create a better, fairer working environment for everyone in Neuroscience.

I joined ALBA because :
I’m joining the ALBA Network because I’m passionate about promoting diversity and ensuring equality in the way we deal with science. As a female theoretical neuroscientist from China, I believe that it’s important for us to be heard by other scientists who share similar interests and goals. The ALBA Network provides a great platform for me to do just that, and I’m excited to be a part of this promising movement wherein all brain scientists will have equal opportunities to thrive and contribute.

I joined ALBA because :
I recently learned about Alba via Twitter. I am a cognitive psychologist working in France and I have been dealing with major health problems for 10 years and my health problems have now lead to me being recognized as having a disability. I am trying to be active in France to help researchers with disabilities but it is proven to be very difficult for many different reasons. This is why I decided to join as I found your initiative fantastic. I am also a women with children and this also had an impact on my carrier and I am very much aware of gender discrimination.
