I discovered the ALBA network at the Society for Neuroscience Connectome and have been itching to become a member ever since. As a woman in a male-dominated field, not only am I hoping to connect with strong women mentors, but also to work in a unified group towards accomplishing ALBA Network’s goals to counteract bias and empower underrepresented groups in brain sciences.

I came to know about ALBA because I was able to attend lectures by Prof. Carmen Sandi. The efforts of your network in an inclusive approach in neurosciences are remarkable, and I wish myself, at my level, and in my field of activity "cancer and brain" to get involved.
In the past, I was able to give conferences in Algeria and Tunisia and I was very touched by the enthusiasm of the young women researchers, their extreme motivation and also the humanity we shared, something that is currently lacking in our labs.
I train a number of Masters, PhD students and post-docs and should be in capacity to help, welcome students, organize meetings...
