ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. I am an African originally from Nigeria, and a member of the underrepresented in the U.S. biomedical research enterprise. My minority status has precluded me from accessing different opportunities in my academic journey. Therefore, I want to be a member of ALBA to contribute to advancing science in minority communities.
