The Network

ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. We currently have 1890 individual members from 91 countries.

Species : vertebrate
I joined ALBA because :
In laboratories where I have worked, team members are from all over the world. Our ability to generate insightful and impactful research findings relies on the contributions of people from diverse backgrounds. As such, I would like to join ALBA, helping create a more inclusive environment in the neuroscience community.

I joined ALBA because :
I am deeply committed to ensuring equal participation and inclusion for all members of minoritized groups in STEM. The ALBA is a community of like-minded individuals, all working towards promoting equity and diversity in the brain sciences. I joined because I feel like I can contribute to the network’s goals and also learn from colleagues involved in implementing best practices.

I joined ALBA because :
I am an African originally from Nigeria, and a member of the underrepresented in the U.S. biomedical research enterprise. My minority status has precluded me from accessing different opportunities in my academic journey. Therefore, I want to be a member of ALBA to contribute to advancing science in minority communities.
