As a neuroscientist, I will benefit from the meetings and events of the ALBA network. I am excited to be part of this wonderful network of neuroscientists. I believe I can contribute to the ALBA network by participating and organizing events in India, which is not very well represented in the world when it comes to neuroscience research. I have recently started my independent career, building my lab, so I believe the mentoring programs will be useful for me. And the interactions with the members of ALBA will open up the possibilities for collaboration on projects and grants.

As part of an underrepresented community, I encounter challenges as a first-generation university student. Pioneering higher education in my family, coupled with belonging to historically marginalized racial, ethnic, or caste groups, and facing language barriers, shapes my unique academic journey. These factors underscore my commitment to addressing systemic disparities and dismantling barriers for future generations.
