I would like to join the ALBA Network to contribute to and benefit from its mission of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in neuroscience. As a postdoctoral researcher investigating the neurobiological mechanisms underlying alcohol use disorder and its comorbid conditions, I am deeply committed to fostering collaborations that support underrepresented groups in the field. ALBA’s initiatives align with my goals of advancing neuroscience through diverse perspectives, mentoring early-career scientists, and engaging in global discussions that drive scientific innovation. Being part of this network would provide me with valuable opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and advocating for inclusivity in neuroscience research.

To help giving visibility to underrepresented groups in Neuroscience.

From the initial days of my research experience, I was very much interested and intrigued about learning cellular and in-vivo animal models of neuroscience. Exploring neuroscience communities and participating in conferences, training and workshops would allow me to build a strong background in the fields of cellular and molecular neuroscience and would help me in utilizing the concepts during my PhD and post PhD research.

I am a neurobiologist interested in contributing to society by associating with the ALBA network.

As a woman I have encountered numerous challenges that have significantly impacted my research and professional development. These challenges include limited access to resources, financial constraints, and the absence of a supportive environment for female researchers in the field of neuroscience.

I’m joining Alba to promote equity and inclusion within neuroscience by connecting with others who are equally dedicated to these values. Alba’s mission strongly aligns with my commitment to building supportive networks for underrepresented groups, and I’m eager to help shape impactful initiatives that foster genuine, lasting change.

I’m joining ALBA to contribute to a global effort that promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion in neuroscience. As a researcher from a low-middle-income country, I understand the challenges faced by underrepresented groups and want to help create a more inclusive and supportive scientific community. Volunteering with ALBA allows me to give back, grow through meaningful collaborations, and support initiatives that foster fairness and accessibility in science.

Being a female researcher from a developing third-world country brings up new opportunities and challenges every day. ALBA would give me a platform to connect with more such people from different parts of the world where we could share our love and passion for brain sciences.

As a gay woman in a scientific community that lacks gender equality and LGBTQ representation is challenging enough besides the competition among scientists. Thus, acknowledging and confronting the stigma and discrimination, I strongly appreciate Alba’s efforts to improve the everyday experience of myself and colleagues in science.

Because, I can find a way to communicate science and insecure diversity in each and every working environment.
