I joined ALBA because :
I'm a neurophysiologist, I did my PhD from AIIMS, and postdoc from Bordeaux neurocampus, now at Karolinska. I believe at this point in my academic career it is important to gain experience working with people with diverse backgrounds. I find FENS ALBA-network could be a best platform to materialize it.

I joined ALBA because :
I was pointed towards Alba due to their travel awards by a seminar organiser. I found that the goals of Alba, to build an international network of diverse researchers within Neuroscience to actively promote DEI goals and offer mentoring for ECR, strongly resonates with my personal goals.

As a female post-doctoral researcher with two young children I am well aware of the importance of empowering women to pursue their careers in science. I very much appreciate the efforts from the alba network to promote diversity in neuroscience (especially during these unprecedented times of a pandemic)

I joined ALBA because :
My main focus is on the effect of menstruation and menstrual disorders on women's ADHD, a highly understudied topic. Women can be severely affected by their ADHD symptoms, which can worsen due to hormonal dysregulation. Alba seems like the perfect platform to start spreading awareness on the subject.

I recently heard about Alba through participating in my first FENS conference last month (The 2023 Brainc Conference on Structuring knowledge for flexible behavior) and I learned about a range of resources Alba provides to its members as well as the brain science community in general. The missions of Alba also resonate well with my core values as a person and as a scientist.
