I really appreaciate Alba's efforts to increase visibility of minorities.

Interested in the organization

As a person of several intersecting privileges, I find it important to join the action for equity and diversity, values dear to me. By joining ALBA I hope to constantly learn more, but also to constantly remind myself of the work that still needs to be done at this front.

During FENS2020 Virtual Forum, I had chance to join many Alba events. The scope of the events and sincerity of the speakers made me feel positive about career in science again. I am looking forward to join Alba Network to receive&provide support and to contribute towards equity in academia and science.

Beacause it seems a great tool to find other researchers in my field and plan possible meetings in upcming FENS conferences

I am interested in promoting equality and inclusivity in science and ALBA network is doing great work in this context.

I believe Alba's mission is important for any working field which I'm always happy to support. Additionally, I believe I can create networks with likeminded people in the field of neuroscience through Alba's membership.

I joined ALBA because I deeply resonate with its mission to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in the brain sciences. As a psychologist and doctoral researcher who has personally navigated academia with a learning difference (dyslexia), I understand how vital it is to create spaces where diverse cognitive and cultural experiences are not only accepted but valued. ALBA represents a community that is actively working to change the culture of science, not just through statements, but through real, sustained action. That inspires me. I wanted to be part of a network where I could both contribute and grow: by learning from others, supporting inclusive initiatives, and helping make neuroscience more accessible, especially for those who’ve historically been marginalised or overlooked. For me, joining ALBA is not just a professional choice — it’s a personal commitment to building the kind of scientific community I want to belong to.

As a scientist, it is beneficial to be part of a community with whom you can share interests, advice and especially science. Supporting each other is the base for success.
