I am eager to join the ALBA Network due to its commitment to promoting equity and diversity in brain sciences. The network's goals, including countering bias, recognizing contributions to science and diversity, and providing opportunities for underrepresented groups, resonate with my values. I see the network's actions, such as establishing best practices, curating resources, hosting events, and creating awards, as crucial steps toward fostering inclusivity. The emphasis on mentoring, building a scientist database, and advocacy aligns with my belief in collaborative efforts for positive change. Joining the ALBA Network, I aim to actively contribute to its mission and leverage my skills to support its goals.

I really resonate with the cause of advocacy, awareness and interdisciplnary approach to the brain sciences. Having faced my own challenges as a young healthcare professional, I would like to contribute to increasing outreach in the field of brain sciences.

I met at FENS 2020. I saw Alba Network really doing great work. I wanted to follow many of Alba's works closely. Also thank you very much for the scholarship you gave me at FENS. this impressed me a lot. Thank you Alba-Network.

I was impressed when I read the mission statement of the ALBA network. I come from a community where research in neuroscience still hasn't reached its potential. I believe, this platform will allow me the opportunity to access the wondrous scientific community of neuroscience led by inspiring neuroscientist and world class research.

Because I want to connect with neuro-scientist around the world and help each other

Understanding and upholding social responsibility within the research community is important to me as someone passionate about inclusivity in science and who is part of several underrepresented groups. I hope to connect with like-minded people through Alba, gain inspiration and mentorship, and contribute to a more inclusive and welcoming neuroscience community.

I really would like to be part of this network and contribute to gender equality in science. Specifically, I would like to fight for getting that women who finished their PhD and want to continue successfully their research career, would have the same possibilities than men. I see also very important to work on the data collection of gender bias to provide objective information about gender inequalities in our field. Last but not less, I would like to learn more from people in the Alba Network and share experiences.

I had been fascinated by Neuroscience since my school days. One of the primary reasons was overhearing occasional talks in the family about nerves after a family member was diagnosed with a condition. I also am deeply fascinated by the functioning of the brain and the central nervous system (especially after watching the movie Lucy).

Because I want to increase the presence of women in science and in strategic positions i.e. decision makers. Nowadays it is very uncommon to find women at the same extend than men in events, committees, etc...
