The Network

ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. We currently have 1890 individual members from 91 countries.

I joined ALBA because :
Over the past decade, I dedicated my professional career to developing tools that could demolish barriers between psychiatry, cognitive science, computer science, mathematics, and neuroscience, between the U.S.A. and Palestine, while integrating my scientific and medical training. My research spans treatment, symptoms, cognition, and neural layers to reimagine psychiatry and neurology while accounting for the variability across the different components, with no individual left behind. Taken from a community perspective, this research philosophy is the technical definition of diversity, equity, and inclusion, i.e., the core mission of ALBA. I avidly look forward to contributing to the ALBA mission and network.

I joined ALBA because :
As a neuroscientist who fits multiple definitions as an under-represented group in brain research, I support Alba's mission. Having scientists who are neurodiverse is especially important as we have a personal motivation for our research and an insight that can only come from experience.

I joined ALBA because :
I strongly believe that diversity is an asset for communities, bringing together people with a variety of skills and perspectives. I also think that the promotion of under-represented groups in science and education is a key step to make STEM fairer and less biased, to ultimately foster new talents with a wider range of ideas and methods.
