ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. Working towards a more equitable academic environment to nurture diversity, and to promote creativity has become an important personal goal as an active professional member within our scientific community. This goal requires actions at many different levels, from the lab to scientific organizations to entities developing policies. Thus, it is important to connect with colleagues who are working towards similar goals to assist and contribute to an important transformation that must take place to make science and scientific careers possible regardless of gender identity, race, ethnicity, disability, culture or socioeconomic status.
